Sedona dirt and radiators

In their seminal collaboration, Melissa Wyman and Michael Namkung merge their physical drawing practices into an activity loosely based on an arcade game from the 1982 movie Tron. Wielding electric radiators that they drag through the dirt, Melissa and Michael begin by learning how to negotiate each other’s presence, moving through the space in tandem. This cooperative dance steadily escalates into an all out competition to defeat the other and claim the last radiator standing. The result: Zen Garden Radiator Wars.
This collaboration took place during the the Summer Sedona Colony Artist Residency Program in Sedona, Arizona
